Sketchbook Monday #26

Today I’m showing you a single page of my sketchbook.

I wanted to make a sketchbook page in the spirit of a natural science publication. I worked with paint markers and Posca colored pencils.

I used Posca like real paint, rather than the flat strokes I’m used to. I added details with the pencils. I really like these new Posca pencils because the colors are brilliant.

The page seemed a bit empty, so I thought I’d draw some pigeon prints. I was a bit worried, though, because I wanted all the prints to be identical. That’s when I got the idea of getting out my stamp-engraving equipment. A small piece of rubber, some gouges, a little ink and I had my prints! I really like the result on this page.

Bonus stories I posted on Instagram about the rubber stamps. See you soon!
