London – Day 06

I’m really taking my time telling you all about this trip to London haha!

We were up rather late that day so we decided to have breakfast right next to the British Museum we were to visit.

We went to Victoria House Coffee and Food. Luckily they agreed to take us even though everything was booked. We promised to eat quickly and were served. We almost didn’t get breakfast – that’ll teach us to stay up late on a Sunday haha!

Everything was very good. My daughter had fried eggs, my husband had a brioche with eggs and bacon and I had a waffle with fruit and yoghurt. The cappuccino was very good too. I think I’ve already said it in previous posts, but I’ll say it again: during this stay in London I had some good coffees or cappuccinos. I noticed that there were a lot of Italian bartenders, which probably explains it haha.

Once we’d had our fill, we headed for the British Museum. The museum is free. We queued a bit, but got in pretty quickly.

We did a rather quick tour of the museum, concentrating mainly on the Egyptian section. Naturally, we saw the Rosetta Stone. It was a little crowded, but we were able to look at it quite calmly.

After the museum, we went to a Cath Kidston store (now closed). I love their English-style products.

The front window was decorated with Peter Rabbit drawings.

I took an airtight box and a pretty manicure box.

For lunch, we chose to try our hotel’s afternoon tea. It was very good and refined. It included tea, of course, savory sandwiches, desserts and scones with clotted cream and jam. They have vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and children’s options.

It’s a must-do experience if you’re ever in London. You’ll find them in many tearooms.

We then rested quietly in our room until the evening.

We dined at Sticks N’ Sushi. It was decent, but far too expensive. What’s more, we didn’t really appreciate the atmosphere, as the tables were squeezed together to accommodate as many people as possible.

We ended the evening by admiring the corgis on display in the streets, which I mentioned here.

See you soon for the end of our trip.
