Life in a nutshell #20

A lot has happened in the last few weeks, so it was time for another “life in a nutshell” post.

We visited two exhibitions at the Musée Guimet and the Musée du Quai Branly. I’ll show you some photos soon. To get from one museum to the other, we crossed the Seine and enjoyed the magnificent view. Paris is beautiful. <3

Between one exhibition and the next, we had lunch at Ponzu. There really aren’t many restaurants near the Musée Guimet, and the miss gave us the challenge of finding a Japanese restaurant. Challenge accepted! It was excellent and very copious. If you’re ever in the neighbourhood, I recommend this restaurant.

The great thing about Paris is that you can see works of art around every corner.

I stopped by the newspaper shop not far from my house. From time to time, she brings out vintage stuff from her stock. I particularly liked the mushroom booklet.

My daughter went on a trip to Spain with her class. She lost her identity card at Porto airport. I was already imagining the hassle of having to reissue the card, as finding appointments in Paris is a real obstacle course. Without really believing it, I logged on on the Wednesday morning of his return and found an appointment for that very afternoon. Better than winning the lottery!

We then took the opportunity to take a stroll around the town hall area of Paris Centre. We admired the giant sculpture of artist Yayoi Kusama next to the Samaritaine.

Two weeks after her return, we received her pen pal. I made a little banner that we put on a cake bought from Cyril Lignac. We made sure to give her a taste of good French patisserie. She discovered macaroons and loved them.

We took a trip to the geek-manga stores on boulevard Voltaire, where we came across Bruce Lee and some funny bags.

What’s new with you?

See you soon!
